Carlos, I want to share something with you. Soon after I first moved to SF I decided to attend this huge prayer event at Candlestick Park, maybe you were there? It would have been in April 1990. Anyway, my employer who had moved me from quiet and quaint Breckenridge, CO to the big bad city was sooo worried about me driving alone and parking at Candlestick Park, she really tried hard to scare me out of it. Then as I’m driving into the big parking lot, there are these big rough looking guys waving at my car and yelling and wanting me to drive towards them, I couldn’t hear what they were saying but I was very intimidated thinking maybe I should have listened to my boss…. till I got closer and heard what they were yelling, “Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord, Hallelujah”. The Holy Spirit fell on me at that time more then at any other time during the whole service, which was totally awesome like 20,000 or more people praying, I had never been in such a crowd like that before. Now come to think of it, I think I have shared this with you before. Those guys in the parking lot, they had opened up the gates of Heaven, I went right into His presence, right there, still in my car. May you and your fellow servants be BLESSED and BLESS as the Lord provides everyone with the perfect parking place, protects everyone and makes His presence KNOWN, reaching from your hearts out to the streets of the Mission and back into the church. A continuous flow….

Great post Carlos. It helps to travel to places in person to squelch the bad press that can be attached to a place. There are many of these same PN’s for Africa.

Thanks for sharing Carlos. It’s amazing how much a father’s love or lack of impacts us. I almost felt you we’re my ghost writer since I too shared a very similar experience with my father except I was at Candelstick Park. I guess we’ll be comparing notes! I just wanted to give God the glory for what He has done in your life to “Shine” reflecting His nature and character in spite of your fathers’ shortcomings. Whoever led you to Christ can also rejoice for as Pastor Terry shared a few weeks ago, ” Sharing Christ can produce a change for generations”.
Think about it, I bet if you mapped out like a flow chart your “spiritual family tree” you will find the Goodness of God in each life you’ve touched. I would include myself in there brother. It blows my mind how God in His love will grace us with the provision to forgive and heal because He stepped into our lives and revealed Himself as our perfect father who never tries to embarrass us, is always wanting to be with us, willing to coach and guide us and will never leave us. I remembered Psalm 68 and how God is ultimately the one who walks beside us through wilderness-like circumstances and fills the emptiness in our hearts and pours down on us like rain when we lack our earthly Dad’s presence….Looking forward to serving Father’s Day with you!

I too have to get up in the “wee” hours of the morning sometimes, if you know what I mean. :-)

It’s good to hear about what’s happening with you. My prayer is that the aquisition goes well for you. I have been through two of those and they weren’t fun.
